Job description
Ashini Consultants is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to be responsible for the management, coordination, and follow-up of multidisciplinary projects from initiation through to mandate closure. This person ensures the delivery of building projects as well as major strategic projects in the industrial, mining, transportation, and energy sectors.
They act as an operational leader with internal teams, external partners, and clients to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with established schedules, budgets, quality standards, and objectives.
Through their expertise and coordination skills, they ensure effective communication among the various stakeholders, oversee proactive risk management, and contribute to client satisfaction as well as the overall performance of projects.
They work closely with discipline leads, professionals, technicians, drafters, and management to ensure consistency in interventions, optimization of resources, and the smooth execution of mandates, while taking into account the realities of First Nations communities.
Job location: Chicoutimi, Québec, or 100% remote.

Here are the responsibilities of the role:
1- Project Management and Coordination (65%)
- Communicate project kick-off information to the relevant departments and ensure the administrative start-up of mandates;
- Define the objectives, needs, deliverables, schedules, and resources required to carry out projects;
- Determine the tasks, priorities, and resource needs required for project execution;
- Collaborate with discipline leads to coordinate the technical and operational activities of the teams;
- Review, coordinate, and approve engineering deliverables in accordance with project requirements;
- Plan and participate in design reviews and technical coordination activities;
- Coordinate construction follow-up with the site supervision director as well as with internal and external stakeholders involved in the projects;
- Collect, analyze, and communicate to discipline leads the information relevant to project execution;
- Monitor project progress with stakeholders and communicate issues encountered as well as proposed solutions;
- Manage changes, risks, and issues that may affect projects and plan the required interventions;
- Monitor the progress of the work and provide the information required for project invoicing;
- Track budgets, additional costs/extras, and required adjustments, and communicate relevant information to accounting and the parties concerned;
- Mobilize and coordinate the internal and external technical expertise required to carry out projects in order to ensure solutions that are adapted, consistent, and compliant with mandate requirements;
- Maintain positive professional relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders;
- Ensure proactive communication regarding project progress, issues encountered, and proposed solutions;
- Participate in identifying client needs and contribute to the development of business opportunities;
- Collaborate in the preparation of service proposals, estimates, and technical proposals when required;
- Ensure the quality, compliance, and consistency of deliverables produced as part of the projects;
- Participate in quality control activities, technical validations, and design reviews;
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, best practices, and project management standards;
- Contribute to project post-mortem activities and ensure the follow-up and implementation of identified corrective measures and improvement opportunities.
2- Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Organizational Support (15%)
- Promote collaboration and engagement among the teams involved in projects;
- Support professionals, technicians, and collaborators in coordinating mandate-related activities;
- Act as a project management resource person for internal teams;
- Contribute to the resolution of operational and organizational issues;
- Participate in optimizing multidisciplinary coordination practices.
3- Advisory Role, Quality, and Continuous Improvement (15%)
- Act as an advisory partner to clients and internal teams in order to contribute to the effective execution of projects and the identification of solutions adapted to mandate needs;
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices, tools, methods, and work processes;
- Participate in the application, maintenance, and improvement of the company’s quality standards as well as processes related to the integrated management system and ISO requirements;
- Contribute to project post-mortem activities and ensure the follow-up and implementation of identified corrective measures and improvement opportunities;
- Contribute to the sharing of best practices and the development of a continuous improvement culture within the organization.
4- Professional Development (5%)
